Do you have a heart for EPCC? If so, we encourage you to show it all year around and not just during camp season. The main way that the camp has made improvements to our facilities over the years has been through people just like you who have taken the opportunity to "adopt" special projects. This has happened in many forms over the years including special fund raising, individual monetary gifts, donated supplies, or donated time towards a specific project. Here is a list of projects that YOU, YOUR SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASS, YOUR CHURCH, etc. can adopt and help make a reality. If you can help, please contact us and let us know! Backup Generator for the Dining Hall. It is no suprise to those who have experienced a black out at EPCC that this is an important project! When there are often thousands of dollars in food that must be kept cold, frequent power outages pose a big threat to our operation. This project is 58% funded. We need $5,000 more to push us over the top! New Video Screens for the Chapel. For years we have squinted to see the words of worship songs on small television screens at the front of the chapel. Wouldn't it be great to have a larger, sharper, more colorful screen to facilitate our worship services on the mountain? We think it would, but we need $4500 to make it happen. Can you help? Automatic External Defibrillator. These days, most schools and other public facilities have one of these electronic devices on hand in the event of a medical emergency. This is especially true for camps and recreational facilities that are often a good distance from medical care, as we are here at EPCC. Our summer staff already receives annual training in the use of AEDs along with CPR and first aid. It will take around $1500 to equip our nurse's station with this device, but if we ever have to use it, then its value would become that of a human life! Will you adopt this purchase before the 2008 summer season? Recreational Equipment. We could use several good mountain bikes to replace many that have broken beyond repair in the past several years. We could also use new basketballs, volleyballs, etc. And one project that many of you might have special interest in, we would like to replace our current frisbee golf course with an 18 hole course that uses real disc golf baskets and retire the current course which utilizes tires. The disc golf course would come at a cost of $2750, new recreation balls could be purchased for $250, and another $500 would be great to purchase bikes (in addition to $500 we have already received for this...thanks FCC Albuquerque!). Or, $3500 would cover all of these projects! More Gazeebo Type Shelters. The camp could use a few more small open air structures for class times and small groups. For $2000 each, we can add more of these around camp to be used for years and years to come! All Terrian Vehicle. The camp is in need of a Gator or Mule type 4x4 utility vehicle to use around camp. It should have a bed for carrying gear and the ability to be enclosed in winter would be a plus. All wheel drive is a necessity. Cost will be $7500+. Work Truck. In September 2006, the camp purchased a new work truck to replace our 3/4 ton work truck that was destroyed in a fire. This past year, our light duty Dodge Dakota 4x4 became permanently disabled and with over 175,000 miles is now retired as well. We are in need of a 4x4 truck with an automatic transmission that could be used as a general utility vehicle around camp. A light duty truck would work, but a heavier duty (3/4 ton) vehicle would be prefered. This need is felt greater now that we have 2 full time staff on the mountain. Perhaps you have a vehicle that doesn't exactly fit our needs, but that you could donate for us to sell and we could put the profit towards this purchase.
